  • KICKING THINGS OFF

    Kickoff
    : Play begins at the center circle with the center kickoff. A center kickoff also takes place after a goal is scored and at the beginning of the second half.

    Bicycle kick: An acrobatic shot where a player kicks The ball in midair, backwards and over his own head. Usually the player makes contact with the ball above waist level.

    Corner kick: A kick to put the ball back in play by the offensive team after the defensive team has knocked the ball Out of bounds, over its own goal line. The kick is taken from the corner nearest to where the ball went out of bounds.

    Goal kick: This is a kick taken by the defensive team to Put the ball back in play after the offensive team has knocked The ball out of bounds, over the opposing teams goal line. The kick is taken from within the goal area and must clear the Penalty area before it can be touched by another player.
